Chromosome

A short animation about chromosomes! Is number of chromosomes directly proportional to the complexity of an organism? The answer is NO, this is often referred to as the "c-value paradox". If you look at the table towards the end of the animation, you would clearly appreciate this point, where a Cow has significantly higher number of chromosomes than humans. 

I think chromosomes are one of the fantastic inventions of nature, without chromosomes eukaryotes would have been totally nonexistent.
